TEAM Challenge Playday 2004Discover for yourself what it's like to experience our TEAM Challenge ropes course. Cayuga Nature Center's TEAM Challenge Play Day is an opportunity for members of the Ithaca area community to explore some of the low and high element challenges on Cayuga Nature Center_s ropes course - a chance for friends, colleagues, or families to come out to the Nature Center and have fun working together with others from the community to complete low element challenges and/or support each other as individuals while climbing some of our high element challenges.
Low elements, which are generally just a few feet off the ground, are group problem solving activities involving cables, ropes, wooden platform, boards, etc. that are not only fun to do, but usually require a good deal of creative and collaborative planning. Participants are encouraged to share ideas, support each other, and communicate effectively in order to accomplish a common goal. High elements are climbing activities that allow individuals or pairs to challenge themselves by climbing (using state-of-the-art climbing equipment) anywhere from four to forty-five feet off the ground on cables, logs, ladders ropes, and trees. After some introductions and warm-up activities, our facilitators will safely guide individuals and groups through the low and high rope challenges, as well as encourage participants to reflect upon their experiences for any observations or lessons learned that they might apply to other settings - home, school, work, etc. All participation is challenge of choice; you choose your own level of challenge and involvement.
Individuals, groups, and families (children must be at least eight years old and accompanied by an adult) can register for a two hour low elements program from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m., a two hour high elements program from 12:30 p.m. to 2:30 p.m., or both a low elements and a high elements program. The cost is $5 per person for CNC members; $10 per person (non-members) for each program. Pre-registration is requested as space is limited.
