RE: Creepy Crawlies Exhibit

Learn how to love creepy crawlers at Cayuga nature Center new summer exhibit opening June 15 to September 5, 2001. Almost everyone has a creepy crawly or two that gives them the creeps. The Cayuga Nature center's summer exhibit is specifically designed to better acquaint visitors, whether adult or children, with a wide assortment of live creepy crawlies. With better understanding of these animals, the Nature Center feels that many creepy crawlies may not seem so scary. Although visitors may not learn to love them, the Nature center hopes they may be able to accept then as 'neighbors".

Some of the animals included in the exhibit include scorpions, spiders, centipedes, reptiles and insects. One special feature of the Creepy Crawly exhibit will be two reading levels for visitors. All too often, exhibits reading levels are designed for adults not the young reader. The Nature center want to correct this oversight by producing an Easy Reader version of the various information mini-posters so young readers can read and learn for themselves in the exhibit area. Parents and guardians are encouraged to bring their young readers read together. The CNC staff hopes the Easy Readers will help empower young readers and promote reading as an important life-long skill.

The Cayuga Nature Center is open from 9-5, 7 days a week. Cost is $3 for adults, $2 per senior, and $1 per child under 5. Come to CNC and experience the butterfly house, TreeTops, live animals ,and 5miles of hiking trails.
