RE: Wild Child Day

The second annual Wild Child Day will be held on Saturday November 8th from 12-3pm! Meet the Animal Keepers, discover up close your favorite critters and learn all about these amazing animals. This year we will be hosting our first ever Turtle Race! We have 7 participants in the race which will be held at 2:30. Make sure you see these shelled competitors try to outrun each other! Regular admission fees apply; CNC Members are free. For more information about this or any of our events, visit our website at http://www.cayuganaturecenter.org or call us at 607-273-6260. Cayuga Nature Center is a proud member of the Discovery Trail.

Adoption

-- Now you can contribute to the care and well-being of your favorite Cayuga Nature Center animal and have a lot of fun while you're at it. It's our Wild Child Animal Adoption Program!

-- An interesting and easy way to do something wonderful for your favorite feathered, scaled, or furry friend. You can adopt an animal for yourself, for your family, or for your company, school or club. You can even send an animal adoption package as a gift.

-- It's a wonderful way to teach children about our responsibility to help other living things.

-- The Cayuga Nature Center, a private non-profit organization, houses and cares for over 30 animals. These wonderful creatures depend entirely on us, and you!

-- The Wild Child Program offers the opportunity to become even closer to the animals and assist in supporting the cost of their food and care.

Memorial Fund

-- Our animals mean a great deal to Cayuga Nature Center's staff, members, and visitors. When one of our animal friends passes away, we feel it is only right to memorialize them.

-- Currently, we are looking for a sculpture artist to render a likeness of Woody, the Wood Turtle who passed away at an age of at least 40 years in January, 2003, after living with us at the Nature Center since 1988. This sculpture will be placed outside to grace the lawn of the CNC property for all to see.

-- If you would like to pay tribute to Woody or any of our other critters who have passed on, please sponsor them in memorium. Donations in this form will help us erect sculptures in their honor; donors names will be added to the plaques that explain the sculptures.
